CLIENT: Fix the Debt
Creative Direction
Even highly informed people don’t exactly know the difference between the national debt and our country’s deficit, much less how important paying down the national debt is to the economy. To help the organization Fix The Debt overcome these challenges, two campaigns were created. The first, called “Parody,” used the looks and feels of various well-known advertising campaigns to capture audiences’ attention. From ads that looked like Nike ads to those that looked like Home Depot or Dunkin’ Donuts ads, the campaign broke through successfully enough to win five Pollies concurrently. Complementary campaigns, "Faces" and “Debt Gets in the Way,” brought the national debt’s real-life impacts to light in print and targeted metro station take-overs.
